MAPLAB is dedicated to understanding how the auditory system processes and integrates the wide range of sounds encountered in everyday life, especially in challenging listening environments. We explore how the ear and brain collaborate to decode complex acoustic signals using electrophysiology, psychoacoustic experiments, and computational modeling. Our research aims to improve diagnostic approaches and treatment strategies for individuals with hearing loss. Our work is supported by the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD).
